🧩 How to Create a Metaverse Quiz Map in 10 Minutes

Build your own gamified metaverse quiz room — no coding, no CSVs, no hassle. Here’s how.

✅ Step 1: Getting Started with ZEP QUIZ

Go to the ZEP QUIZ homepage and click the Log In button at the top right corner. You can log in easily with your Google account or email.

🔍 Want to Use a Pre-Built Quiz Map?

Once logged in, you’ll land on the Explore page. Here, you can preview, copy, and play quiz maps made by other users.

Just note: public maps will show all participants’ scores and rankings, so if you want a private session, copy the map and set it to “Private.”

🛠️ Step 2: Create Your Own Quiz Map

Click “Create My Quiz” in the top-right corner to get started

    🗺️ Choose a Map Template

ZEP QUIZ offers 9 map templates — including Sequential Maps (solve in order) and Freestyle Maps(move freely and find questions).

Newly added maps like the Ocean or Maze make the experience even more fun by visually transforming avatars as you solve questions.

    Once you’ve selected your map:

    1. Enter a quiz title

    2. Set options below:

      1. Allow incorrect answer — Users can move on to the next question without getting the right answer.

      2. Private settings — Quiz won't appear in [Explore], and only shared users can enter. Only available during the Pro plan.

    🔑 Add Questions

ZEP QUIZ supports 3 types of questions:

    • Multiple Choice

    • Short Answer

    • OX Quiz

You can add up to 20 questions per map.

    💡 Add Hints

For difficult questions or when skipping is disabled, you can attach a hint. Hints can be — Text, Image, or YouTube Video

Once all questions and hints are added, click “Create” at the bottom to generate your quiz room.

3️⃣ Step 3: Play the Quiz

Once your quiz room is ready, it’s time to jump in.

    🧑🏻‍🏫 Teacher vs. Student View

Only teachers will see extra controls such as: Start Together, Learning Report, and Waiting Room Toggle. Students can also check the leaderboard to see rankings.

    ⛔️ Start Together

Click “Start Together” to bring all players back to the waiting room before starting the quiz. Note that this will also reset all ranking data.

    🔒 Open/Close Waiting Room

When the waiting room is closed, no one can start the quiz. Open it to begin — a 5-second countdown will show before quiz access is granted.

    🔗 Share Your Quiz Map

Whenever you want to share your quiz map with your students or fellow teachers, click “Share” at the quiz room or “QR Share” inside the quiz map.

You’ll get the QR Code, Entry Code, and Direct URL.

Participants only need to scan the QR Code or input the Entry code to enter and play the quiz. They don’t even have to log in.

    🏅 Leaderboard & Award Podium

When the quiz ends, students are ranked based on accuracy and speed. Their avatars automatically move to a virtual podium, with medal badges appearing above their heads — great for screenshots and celebration!

These elements not only gamify the experience but also increase motivation and engagement in learning.
